A 30 y/o male presents to your ED at 1 AM on a Saturday overnight shift. He states that he suffered a hand laceration at work on a piece of metal. He is right hand dominant. You examine the patient and see the above wound. The patient is neurovascularly intact. He has tenderness on the dorsum of the hand as well, especially over the 4th and 5th metacarpals, but has full range of motion of the wrist.
Is there any other information you would like to know? How would you handle this wound? Do you need any imaging, and if so why?
